E. Power Biggs

E. Power Biggs is not only the best-known concert organist in today's music world, but he is generally credited with initiating the revival of interest in the organ and its vast literature. Born in England, Mr. Biggs was graduated with highest honors from the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 1938, he became a citizen of the United States and currently lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. 

In addition to his appearances in recital and with leading symphony orchestras both here and abroad, Mr. Biggs has conducted extensive research projects throughout Europe and America on the history and repertoire of the organ. These researches have led to acclaimed performances on the famous and historic organs of the world, documented in many distinguished Columbia Masterworks albums. Mr. Biggs is also a writer and lecturer and has contributed technical articles on the organ and its music to many leading music magazines and journals.
