diem festum celebrantes
in honorem beati Marci evangelistae,
de cujus solemnitate gaudent angeli
atque tota curia caelestis
collaudantes et benedicentes
Dominum,

Cujus benignitatem et non condignis

quoniam inter alia dignationis suae beneficia
nobis prae caeteris

Let us rejoice as individuals
celebrating this holy day
in honor of St. Mark, the evangelist,
because of whose sainthood the
angels rejoice
together with the whole heavenly court
praising and blessing the Lord,
alleluia.
Whose sanctity, even though we are not worthy,
we honor with praise,
because among all the other gifts of his love
to us above all other men
He has given the patronage of this saint,
